Just a couple years ago Chloe Moretz looked like a munchkin in (500) Days of Summer, and now in this off-set still from Hick, she’s looking a bit older than fourteen as she’s tarted up for her role as “a 13-year-old Nebraska girl who gets more than she bargained for when she runs away to Las Vegas.”

The full photo is after the break, along with a collection of images from Horrible Bosses, in which Seth Gordon (The King of Kong) directs Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell and Jennifer Aniston as three people you really don’t want to work for.

Hick‘s cast is interesting (Eddie Redmayne, Juliette Lewis, and Blake Lively also appear) and Lymelife director Derick Martini is behind the camera, working from a script by Andrea Portes, who adapted her own novel. But the attraction will definitely be Chloe Moretz, who has consistently been one of the better young actors on the scene. This will be her most overtly adult-like role (though Kick-Ass and Let Me In certainly weren’t kids’ stuff) and I’m hoping she does as much with it as she has previous work.

BOMBSHELL! I will admit that I miss her short hair, it was a fresher look to me. I'll miss it.
The role of a teenage survivalist in a post-apocalyptic world was a coveted one, with young star Chloë Moretz hot on its tail, but Jennifer Lawrence nabbed the lead of Katniss in the upcoming adaptation of the young-adult sci-fi story, 'The Hunger Games.' Since then, people have been trying to figure out if the 'Let Me In' star would tackle another spot on the cast list, but Deadline has announced that Moretz is in talks to work with Tim Burton on the upcoming 'Dark Shadows' remake.

Instead of trying to stay alive in a deadly, Big Brother–esque city, Moretz will be hanging out with the vampires of a gothic soap-opera-turned-movie, including Burton regular Johnny Depp. Moretz will star as Carolyn, whose reclusive mother -- Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, played by Michelle Pfeiffer -- owns the Collinwood mansion where all the supernatural shenanigans take place.

Moretz played a bloodsucker in last year's 'Let the Right One In' remake, where she was praised for her performance as Abby, a 12-year-old vamp who befriends a young boy who is continually bullied and harassed. 'Dark Shadows' will be a reversal of roles, because the character Carolyn is perpetually teased at school by other children who call her mother a witch. Carolyn's father, Paul Stoddard, left the family before she was born, prompting Elizabeth to go into a long mourning period. That Collins family is indeed a morbid bunch.

What say you about this 'Dark Shadows' news? Are you still hanging onto hope that Moretz will join 'The Hunger Games' in a supporting role? Are more vampires too close for comfort?

i'm happy she's not in a supporting role in The Hunger Games, and rather a supporting role in Dark Shadows instead. The cast of DS is absolutely heavenly. Everything is beautiful and nothing hurts
